In a tragic incident that has shocked the Dunoon community, two men and a woman were shot and killed in the early hours of Monday morning, 23 February 2026, reports Cape {town} Etc.
The attack occurred at Ekuphumleni informal settlement, near Milnerton in the Western Cape, when gunmen opened fire in front of a shack, leaving the community reeling from the violent crime.
According to reports from the scene, the attack was sudden and targeted, with the unidentified assailants fleeing immediately after the shooting.
Eyewitnesses are still coming to terms with the events of that fateful morning, emphasising the brazen and alarming nature of the gun violence that has plagued many areas of South Africa.
Brigadier Novela Potelwa, a spokesperson for the police, has confirmed that the Serious Violent Crimes Unit is thoroughly investigating the incident. ‘The motive for this tragic shooting is currently under investigation,’ Potelwa stated.
Authorities have emphasised the importance of community involvement in resolving such heinous acts. ‘Anyone with information can contact the police on 08600 10111 or through the MySAPS app,’ Potelwa added.
