George police are on the scene of a crime after a shooting incident transpired on Friday morning [August 7].
According to reports by SABC News, a provincial traffic officer was shot and wounded by suspects. The wounded traffic officer has been taken to hospital for treatment.
One suspect has also been apprehended after being injured during the incident. According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie, they are in pursuit of the other suspects.
Western Cape MEC for Transport Bonginkosi Madikizela will visit the wounded traffic officer in hospital on Saturday, August 8. He also says that the wounded suspect will “face the full might of the law”.
