Grabow police apprehended two men in illegal possession of crayfish worth an estimated street value of R6.5 million.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) reports that police participating in an intelligence driven operation on Friday, September 18 were informed about a vehicle that was travelling on the N2 transporting crayfish. They saw and stopped the vehicle, and upon conducting a search they found 12 807 crayfish tails and 377 whole crayfish.

Two men ages 43 and 50 were arrested and will appear in court on Monday, September 21.
