Two of the Cape’s main dams are over the 100% mark, and the province’s overall water storage has pushed past the 70% mark for the first time in years. Locals across the province are sharing their joy and pictures to prove it.
From dams to canals, rivers and waterfalls the Mother City’s cup is full and overflowing, social media has been flooded with pictures as the province celebrates bountiful rains that have turned the province’s water storage status around. Berg river and Steenbras Upper are both over the 100% mark and more rain is on its way next week.
Breërivier just outside Worcester is so full it is nearly swallowing a usually out of reach bridge in the area.
Clainwilliam dam has changed a lot over this month, increasing by a whole 50%.
