Uber driver robbers have triggered an online hunt after dashcam footage of an e-hailing attack spread across South African social media, reports Cape {town} Etc.
Enhanced stills shared by Tumi Sole showed the faces and clothing in the frames clearly enough to fuel identification efforts. He wrote: ‘Please help SAPS at arrest these criminals! Frame 2 and 3 are clear images from the dash-cam. Repost.’ See footage below:

Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee shared the footage.
In a previous post shared on Facebook, he shared more dashcam footage dated 18 April 2026. He writes, ‘another armed robbery and hijacking of an e-hailing driver, caught on dashcam, highlights a growing and deeply concerning trend,’ as users urged police to act. See footage below:
It also underlined the growing public reliance on dashcams, which often supply the clearest evidence when an e-hailing passenger trip turns violent.
The post was widely circulated as South Africans passed on tips and called for stronger protection for e-hailing drivers.
The footage has renewed concern about attacks on drivers who depend on dashcams to document violent crime and support investigations. For many online, these clips have become another reminder of how quickly a routine ride can turn into a robbery.
