A fire has been reported at the upper campus of the University of Cape Town on Thursday, January 6. According to reports, the fire broke out just before midnight on Wednesday.
According to a series of Tweets by Varsity News, the fire was located on the slopes above the sports centre, next to where the Campus Protection Services’ COVID-19 Check Point was.

Meanwhile, firefighters are continuing to scope the area for any remaining sparks that may cause reignition.
There was no danger to any human life & the fire was very far from any buildings.
