Virgin Atlantic has announced the 2024/2025 season of their highly anticipated Cape Town to London Heathrow route, starting on 27th October, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The seasonal service will complement the airline’s current flights between Johannesburg and London Heathrow, with the VS478 operating as a night flight departing Heathrow at 7:15pm and arriving in Cape Town at 7:50am.
For the inbound flight, the VS479 will depart at 10am and arrive at London Heathrow later that day at 7:55pm.
The flights from Cape Town will be operated on Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft, offering customers the airline’s award-winning Upper Class, Premium and Economy Light, Classic and Delight cabins.
All of the airline’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft are fully equipped with Wi-Fi to allow customers to stay connected throughout the duration of their flight.
In response to high demand, Virgin Atlantic has stated that the 2024/2025 season has been extended through to the end of April 2025, as well as adding over 80 000 additional seats on this popular route.
Virgin Atlantic offers passengers a full onboard service in each of its cabins, complimentary food and drink and more than 300 hours of entertainment across films, TV and music channels to ensure a smooth flight experience.
Marc Harding, country manager for South Africa at Virgin Atlantic, expressed his excitement about the return of their much-loved Cape Town to London route for the 2024/2025 season.
‘This route has always been a favourite among our customers, and I’m thrilled we can once again make travel between South Africa and the United Kingdom even easier—whether for business, leisure, or both,’ said Harding.
‘In response to incredible demand—especially during the Easter holidays—we’ve extended the season through to the end of April 2025, offering more opportunities for our customers to enjoy Virgin Atlantic’s world-class service,’ Harding added.
