Time Out has published a list of the 15 most affordable holiday locations for UK tourists in 2024, with South Africa’s Mother City coming in second place.
The study determined which destinations are most affordable to visit using data from the 18th annual Post Office Travel Money’s ‘Holiday Money Report’, which takes into account a change in currency value compared to the British pound as well as the local price of eight tourist essentials (coffee, beer, cola, wine, water, suncream, insect repellent and a three-course meal).
Cape Town, which was first in the same rating last year, fell to second place in 2024 as prices for the eight essentials increased by about 5% to £54.35.
