A fire has been reported at the Athlone train station in Cape Town. However, the cause of the fire is still unknown, but firefighters are on scene.

According to News 24, the City’s Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, indicated that the ticket office at Athlone railway station was set alight.” Homeless people have been occupying it. Apparently, one set the place alight and absconded. An adult female was treated for smoke inhalation,” Carelse was quoted saying.
Meanwhile, hundreds of commuters are stranded as Golden Arrow bus service has limited its services following one of its drivers who was shot and wounded on Monday, July 19.
