When it comes to interschool sporting events, those on the spirit committee may argue that a school war cry is one of – if not the – most essential elements of the day, evoking energy, passion and a sense of camaraderie like nothing else can.
Exhibit A: Curro Durbanville High School. The school’s latest war cry performance – flash formations and all – has become such an internet sensation that it has raked in almost 50 million views in just four days and even garnered some attention from Hollywood.
It all began when proud Curro mom Tania Page shared a clip of the school’s high-energy war cry on Instagram. Shortly after, the video went viral across social media platforms, bagging millions of likes from around the world as well as a feature on Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner’s Instagram story.
‘I never expected this to go viral. As a mom, my first thought was about how powerful social media can be, especially for children. It’s a reminder of how one moment can connect millions across the world,’ Page told GoodThingGuys.
‘I’m so happy to have played a part in showcasing Curro on a global scale. They do incredible work in education, and it’s amazing to see a school from Cape Town, South Africa, getting this kind of international attention.’
Take a look and feel the ‘Wolf Pack’ gees:
In addition to becoming an international sensation, Curro Durbanville’s Wolf Pack also happened to secure their title as the 2025 Interschools Spirit Cup Winners!
Suffice it to say, it was an award well deserved.
