The George Municipality has asked all residents to stay indoors after heavy rain and extensive flooding resulted in road closures across the region.
According to the George Herald, several streets in and outside the city are underwater as floods continue. Several schools in George have also closed for the day due to bad weather.

Meanwhile, the GO GEORGE transportation services said in a Facebook post that services are still suspended at this time, as teams on the ground across the system are assessing damage to roads as well as general accessibility.
“We are working with emergency services to assess the status of key roads connecting our network of routes to ensure that it is safe when we resume certain routes,” the post read.
