Cape Town police have arrested several people for not wearing masks at a “worldwide rally for freedom” on Muizenberg beach on Saturday, November 20. The group globally labelled “anti-vaxxers” gathered at the popular surfers’ corner to voice their opinion against the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a seven-minute-long video, SAPS officer’s and Law Enforcement officer’s can be seen approaching the crowd. Officer’s then arrest several people for not wearing a mask in public.

This is the fourth time the group has gathered in Cape Town this year, following their previous rallies in front of the Groote Schuur hospital and the Sea Point promenade.

Residents at the gathering also called for the national lockdown to come to an end as it has brought divisions among families. “We cannot live under tyranny any longer, how much more are we supposed to take. How much are we just supposed to comply with.”
