It’s been a busy few days at Surfer’s Corner at Muizenberg beach as several Bronze whaler sharks were caught in nets by treknetters.
In the video footage captured by a bystander, treknetters can be seen trying to remove the sharks that are caught in their nets. According to surf reporter, Deon Bing, the sharks were then later successfully released by the treknetters.
Local Cape Town fishermen have also recently caught a substantial amount of fish at Surfer’s Corner.
Meanwhile, Shark Spotters have issued a warning to beachgoers after a Bronze whaler shark was spotted around 10:30 am at Muizenberg Beach on Tuesday, 22 February.
According to the shark safety and research organisation, a Bronze whaler shark was also spotted around False Bay on Monday.
