Two broken valves, on the corner of Imam Haron and Belvedere Roads, were reported and required unscheduled repairs after they seized late on Saturday afternoon, leaving several of Cape Town’s suburbs, including Kenilworth, Claremont and Rondebosch, affected.
‘Preparation work was done yesterday (Saturday) and today (Sunday from 7:30 am they have been working to replace the valve,’ posted Councillor for Ward 58 Katherine Christie late last night.
‘It is now in and water should be restored within an hour or two.’
