A group of kayakers got a little more than they bargained for on a paddling trip in Sea Point when a huge whale appeared in the water right next to them to join the tour.

The paddlers were part of the Kaskazi Kayak tour, which offers trips on the Atlantic Ocean along the Cape Town coastline, when the unexpected visitor came along, despite whale season being a number of months away.

The immense marine mammal swam right up to a surprised couple on the tour, close enough for them to touch it. Many people spend hours waiting to see these majestic creatures, but this lucky group got a first-hand experience unlike any other.
