World’s Best Vineyards has unveiled its list of the top 50 wine destinations for 2024, and South Africa’s Creation Wines has secured the impressive third spot globally.
Located in the scenic Hemel en Aarde Valley just outside Hermanus, Creation Wines is now not only a top global destination but also celebrated as Africa’s best vineyard, reports Cape {town} Etc.

This recognition makes Creation Wines a must-visit for wine enthusiasts, with its stunning location and exceptional wines drawing international acclaim.
For South Africans, this world-class vineyard is conveniently close, making it an ideal addition to any wine lover’s itinerary.

The VIK winery in Chile took second place and Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal in Spain was ultimately crowned as the winner.
Creation, described as ‘a little piece of heaven on earth’ was recognised for its commitment to biodiversity and sustainable practices.
The winery, which produces highly acclaimed pinot noir and chardonnay, lies at the base of the Babylonstoren mountain.

The top 50 list focused on wineries which provided an unforgettable wine experience while promoting wine culture.
The Klein Constantia Winery was listed as number 41 and served as the only other South African winery to break into the top 50 global list.
With views over False Bay, offerings of a fresh sea breeze and ancient trees, this stunning estate is renowned for its white wines and iconic dessert wines.


The list further featured wine farms located in Italy, Argentina, France and Germany.
