A 58-year-old woman has lost her life following a violent house robbery in Delft, with police now searching for the suspects behind the fatal attack, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Officers from South African Police Service were called to a residence in Silversands Road, Leiden, on Thursday night, where they discovered the victim inside a bedroom with a gunshot wound to her head.
Medical personnel declared her dead at the scene shortly after their arrival.
Early information indicates that two unidentified individuals entered the property before opening fire on the woman, killing her during the incident.

After the shooting, the suspects reportedly fled the house, taking an undisclosed amount of cash along with several cellphones.
Authorities have since opened a murder case, with the motive behind the attack still unclear as investigations continue.
Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg has urged anyone who may have information to come forward, either by contacting Crime Stop anonymously or using the MySAPS mobile application.
