A rapid response team was dispatched to locate the fallen hiker.
When the rescuers arrived at the hikers’ location, they decided to fly her down the mountain.
The team assisted her a short distance up the trail until the Western Cape Department of Health & Wellness EMS / Air Mercy Service (AMS) rescue helicopter could land.
She was helped the helicopter and flown to a nearby landing zone.
The remaining members of the hiking group were assisted down the rest of the trail, and the incident was concluded with everyone safely off the mountain shortly after 6:30pm.
