A woman, believed to be in her 20s was attacked this morning, after she was stabbed in Schotsche Kloof in the Bo-Kaap.
ER24 paramedics confirmed the incident and said the victim has “sustained serious injuries” following the attack.
“It is believed that the woman was walking in the area before an alleged assailant assaulted her,” said ER4 paramedics.
Arriving at the scene just before 11am, ER24 paramedics found that other medical services, police and the fire department were already present.
“Upon further assessment, the woman was found lying on the ground and being assessed by the medical services,” said ER24 paramedics.
The victims was stabilised before being transported to the hospital for medical care.
There is no further information available regarding the status of the victim, but sources say she may be a tourist.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but police were on the scene for investigations.”
Cape Town ETC contacted the police services but no response was provided at the time of publication.
