Woolworths is expanding their ‘click and collect’ service by allowing customers a contactless, drive-through option.

The option was first trialed at their Durbanville Food Store location over Easter weekend, but is now available at more locations throughout the country.

“During these last few weeks, we have been focused on putting in place all the necessary precautions to safeguard the wellbeing of our customers and employees during the Covid-19 pandemic,” explained head of Online and Mobile at Woolworths, Liz Hillock.

“We have seen an unprecedented increase in demand for our online offering during this crisis. Since the start of the lockdown we’ve increased our capacity by over 50% but demand remains sky-high.”

Customers who would like to make use of this service may order their groceries using the Woolworths website. Simply go to ‘Select Delivery Area’, select the ‘Collect Food Items’ option and then choose one of the participating stores.

Customers then arrive at the selected stores Click & Collect parking bay during a specific collection window period and will be met by Woolworths employees who will place your groceries in your car.

This new service is currently available in Durbanville, Claremont, Kyalami, Linksfield and La Lucia, and will be rolled out at more locations soon.
