“There is no bad weather, only bad clothing,” says photographer Bernhard Kossman.
This is a fitting philosophy for any explorer, and certainly, anyone who needs that extra boost to enjoy Cape Town’s natural wonders even when the weather takes on a mood.
Last week, Cape Town’s rains were disruptive at best, but that didn’t stop the curious eyes of individuals like Kossman from enjoying wonders like the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens as a water world.
If you haven’t explored Kirstenbosch’s Eden yet, you are spoilt for choice with reasons to do so. Its accolades include being one of the greatest botanical gardens worldwide, hosting tree top canopy walks to grant you some of the best views, and the opportunity to experience around 7000 plant species. There are even dinosaurs at the Cycad Amphitheatre, in sculpture form.
Even when the weather might not seem to be on your side, it may just be the silver lining to experience the Gardens in a whole new way, and Kossman’s photo certainly attests to this. Take a look:
