The Cape Peninsula’s only rose picking facility, Chart Farm, offers a unique experience to lovers of roses. The garden is in full bloom, and a sea of beautifully coloured roses is available for picking by the public.
William Shakespeare said ‘What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.’ Whether it’s the fragrance, beauty, or symbolism, roses are undeniably lovely. With Valentines Day coming around next month, why not hone your bouquet composing skills to create a gift as unique as your love?
Centrally located near Wynberg Park, only 20 minutes away from central Cape Town, Chart Farm provides a pleasant retreat from the city.
Roses are available for picking or you can place a special order for collection. If you choose to pick your own roses, the Farm Stall supplies secateurs and buckets.
The farm boasts a wide variety of roses for picking, all with unique appearances and names. You can choose from: Baronesse, Granada, Frihsinn, Lady Like, Harmony, Herero, Kristo Pienaar, Boksburg Fantasia, Double Delight, Elina, Ethel Deane, Esther Geldenhuys, Janine Herholdt, and Johannesburg Sun.
The Chart Farm coffee shop, named The View at The Terrace, has a fresh look with a farm-style country feel. After your rose picking adventure, head over to enjoy the magnificent views of the Constantia Valley while you indulge in scrumptious home-made cakes, breakfasts and lunches.
