Streetscapes’ community garden connects residents who live close to one another but lead very different lives. This Saturday, it is hosting a garden market where guests can shop for organic produce, raw honey, free-range eggs and preserves.
Since its inception in 2019, Khulisa Solutions’ flagship programme has helped street-based individuals integrate into society through its community garden initiative.

Streetscapes is a sustainable urban regeneration initiative that addresses the needs of Cape Town’s most vulnerable population. As an alternative to common emergency relief models, Streetscapes is structured to address the multi-dimensional needs of the homeless.
Neighbouring residents and businesses like The Electric and Nude Foods take their organic waste to the garden’s compost heap, which then feeds the garden and reduces landfill toxicity.
The organisation recently held a Garden Day that was so popular that it decided to include bimonthly garden markets in its calendar.
The forthcoming market is being held this Saturday 12 November and Streetscapes invites the public to join the braai and shop for fresh organic produce, raw honey, free-range eggs and preserves.
