A feline in distress was found stuck on top of an electric pole in Kensington, Cape Town on Tuesday, but thanks to a chance encounter with Epping Fire and Rescue services, the cat is safe and sound.
According to News24, Firefighters were responding to a motor vehicle accident on 11th Avenue, when Firefighter Duke Deyzel and his crew noticed a furry feline stuck at the top of the pole. The team tended to the accident before coming back to save the cat.
It is believed that the cat was dehydrated after being stuck since 8am.
It was given water, treated for heatstroke, and handed over to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
Deyzel – a fellow animal-lover – told News24 he was glad he and the crew were able to make quick work of this incident.
