A report by New World Wealth, ranking South Africa’s best and most luxurious apartment complexes, features four Cape Town establishments.

The global marketing research group considered a number of factors to rank these trendy living spaces. These included design, space, communal gardens, maintenance, location, views and scenery, security and reception features. Also, activities available – gym, swimming pool and quality of fitting as well as the appeal to wealthy buyers.

According to SA real estate advisor, Basil Weinrich, who assisted New World Wealth with ratings, the market for luxury apartments has consistently outperformed the general SA housing market over the past few years and this is expected to continue.

“In particular, we expect luxury apartments in Seapoint in Cape Town to perform especially well going forward. We also expect strong growth in luxury apartments in Umhlanga and Ballito over the next few years,” says Weinrich.

The Mother City’s featured apartment complexes include:

1. The Bantry

Located in picturesque Bantry Bay, Cape Town as the name suggests, it is a beautiful beach area with never-ending views. Residents are allowed impressive vistas while at the same time being protected from the wind. All of The Bantry’s units are particularly large (over 300 square metres each). The complex was designed by well-known SA architect, Stef Antoni. Prices range from R30-million to R40-million.

 

2. San Michele

Sophisticatedly design, San Michele lies right on the iconic Clifton beach, which is the most expensive street in the country. Clifton is definitely one of Cape Town most popular beaches and residents of San Michele enjoy easy access.

Prices range from R3-million to R30-million.

 

3. De Meermin

Cosily perched on gorgeous grassy hills looking over Outlook Beach and the Lagoon in Plettenberg Bay, sits the refined establishment of De Meermin. This is the only Garden Route complex to make the top ten list.

Prices range from R3-million to R10-million.

 

4. V&A Marina Apartments

The V&A Marina Apartments are located on Dock Road next to the One & Only Hotel in Cape Town’s Waterfront district. Those who stay at these stylish holdings have easy walking access to the Waterfront Shopping Centre. Also known as one of the most expensive addresses in SA. Property reaches prices of around R90 000 per square metre. Residents often park their yacht in the marina in front of their apartments.
