• A brand new luxury spa has joined the list of the many opulent offerings at the Garden Route Game Lodge.

Guests can now look forward to being pampered in style at the new spa. Designed by well-known architect Sylvie Vantillard, the contemporary-style building with its high ceilings and oversized windows and sliding doors seems to float above the landscaped gardens and offers a zen-meets-safari appeal.

The luxury spa boasts two treatment rooms with amazing views and offers indoor as well as outdoor treatments. A sauna and steam room, along with “his” and “hers” bathrooms with oversize shower, will make guests feel extra pampered.

The manicure and pedicure salon looks out over the gardens and water fountain, where the signature style of widely-known landscape architect Darryl Price Lewis is evident.

With three full-time qualified therapists, the spa is able to handle the many requests for couples treatments and is a hit with honeymoon couples. A full treatment menu is on offer at the spa.

The spa is within walking-distance from all the rooms, making it easy to access during the day.

On top of this luxurious addition to the lodge, the Sunset Ridge at Garden Route Game Lodge has also been expanded.

Following the success of the first five Sunset Ridge luxury rooms launched in September 2016, a decision was made to add an additional three units. Standing adjacent to the existing ones and accessible by golf cart, the new units have 180 degree-views of the game reserve and the sky, making for perfect sunset viewing.

While similar in design and features, with outdoor Victorian bath and shower, the new units, at 80 square meters each, are slightly more spacious than the pre-existing ones, with one notable addition being the heated plunge-pool. To further enhance the guest experience, the lodge has added an exclusive reception and lounge area for Sunset Ridge guests.

Built from locally sourced stone and thatch and with a design also conceived by Sylvie Vantillard, the spacious reception and lounge allows guests to enjoy a more personal welcome and check-in on arrival.

Set in landscaped gardens, the new reception also provides Sunset Ridge guests with a peaceful space to relax with a good book or gather for coffee prior to morning or evening game drives.

The new Sunset Ridge rooms have proved to be very popular with both families and couples, with something for everyone.
