Morton & Partners, one of South Africa’s leading radiology and diagnostic imaging providers, is expanding its footprint with a new practice at Riverlands Mall in Cape Town. The practice began accepting digital bookings earlier in May and officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting event on 29 May 2025.
It is the first standalone, out-of-hospital radiology centre in Observatory. The facility will offer some of the newest imaging services in a patient-centric environment that Cape Town has yet to experience, and where privacy and real-time local expertise take top priority.
Strategically located at the new Riverlands Mall, the practice offers the ultimate accessibility to Capetonians with proximity to key medical facilities such as Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital and Rondebosch Medical Centre. Unlike traditional hospital-based radiology, this setting allows for a more relaxed, personalised and streamlined experience.

Radiology is often seen as a behind-the-scenes link between GP diagnoses and specialist medical care, but this practice’s setup transforms a routine visit into a more welcoming and comfortable experience.
With its address in the vibrant new retail hub, the centre ensures a seamless, and perhaps even enjoyable, patient journey. Pre-booked appointments minimise waiting times, while nearby amenities, from convenience retailers and a pharmacy to stylish coffee shops, offer patients a chance to get more done in their busy schedules.
‘We are redefining the radiology experience by combining world-class diagnostic services with a setting designed for patient comfort and efficiency. This expansion is about putting patients first and making high-quality healthcare more accessible,’ explains Ari Fonarov, CEO of Morton & Partners.
The Riverlands branch features the latest gen tech in diagnostic imaging technology, including the latest MRI and CT scanners, delivering enhanced image quality and faster scan times.

This will be the first African location where you will find the Phillips CT 5 300 scanner, which uses leveraging AI for new clinical capabilities and workflow advances. The practice is staffed by a team of local expert radiologists and radiographers, offering specialised services such as:
- Women’s Wellness – Comprehensive imaging services for women, including mammograms and bone density scans.
- Sports imaging and joint injections – Advanced musculoskeletal diagnostics for athletes and active individuals.
- Oncology imaging – High-precision imaging for cancer detection and monitoring.
- Cardiac imaging – State-of-the-art diagnostics for heart health.
A key feature of this facility is its dedicated Women’s Wellness space, designed to prioritise privacy and comfort for women undergoing routine screenings.
Dr Jacqueline Kieck, a radiologist who is based at the Riverlands Mall practice, highlights: ‘Women’s health requires an environment where patients feel safe and supported. Our Women’s Wellness area ensures a comfortable, private space where women can access essential screenings with a compassionate and highly skilled team.’

By streamlining operations and focusing on efficient scheduling, the practice ensures shorter waiting times and, where possible, offers same-day appointments – without the delays often associated with emergency walk-ins and hospital workflows.
Additionally, AI-assisted technology enhances efficiency, optimising scan times while maintaining exceptional diagnostic accuracy. The space itself is tailored for patient well-being, featuring comfortable waiting areas, spacious dressing rooms and premium finishes.
