With Coco Safar’s tradition of making every culinary experience exceptional, the expectation was high when Coco Safar decided to launch its own high tea.

And expectations were indeed exceeded. Coco Safar’s High Tea takes the traditional afternoon high tea to a couture level – an 18-course multi-sensory culinary experience that takes guests on a journey from Cape Town to Istanbul with a stopover in Paris and then Shanghai.

Expect personalised table-side plating by Coco Safar’s pastry chefs reminiscent of the most exquisite grand hotels of the 1950s, delivered with contemporary flair, along with siphon made botanical teas and single origin coffees. It’s a savoury and sweet culinary voyage that has unexpected yet familiar flavour profiles.

For those that remember Coco Safar’s cutting-edge yet intimate Dessert Bar Experience (DBE) which was since put on hold when the lockdown happened in South Africa last year (for obvious reasons), they will be pleased to know that some of the more theatrical courses from the DBE has now been incorporated into Coco Safar’s high tea, plated table-side. The dessert bar concept is one of the hottest food trends to emerge globally in the last two years.

Guests can expect adventurous dishes like savoury-sweet cucumber spring rolls with basil mouse, white chocolate yoghurt mousse with apple granita and pistachio, a Bento Box with couture savoury treats, and an array of mini French Patisserie and Canadian scones to name a few.
