On Tuesday 19 February, the official sponsor of the Rugby World Cup, Heineken® hosted a Captains Dinner at the Nooitgedacht Estates in Stellenbosch where influential faces of South African rugby, Heineken friends, fans and members of the media dined at an exclusive viewing party.

The Webb Ellis Cup is on an 18 nation global tour en route to Japan for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in September. To kick off the South African leg of the tour, Heineken took to the Mother City to marvel and celebrate the tournaments silver-gilded trophy.

Heineken Global ambassador for RWC 2019, John Smit alongside Former Springboks captain Jean de Villiers led the night as they shared their Rugby World Cup memories with those in attendance “We are about curating exciting moments of rugby to fans in all parts of the world. This dinner enabled our captains to share some of the most memorable highlights of the Rugby World Cup”, says Themba Ratsibe, Marketing Manager of Heineken South Africa.

On the 22nd of February, the Trophy will make its way around the Mother City for rugby fans to get a chance to see the trophy in person.

–  5.30pm – 7pm: Rascals, Kenilworth
–  8pm – 9.30pm: Premium Sports, Mitchells Plain
