Get ready for the future. A new hotel called Hotel Sky is opening in the Mother City in 2021, and will feature three robot assistants to wait on guests.

The 540-room, 29-storey Hotel Sky Cape Town is scheduled to open on Lower Long Street in 2021, and will offer the perfect combination of convenience and comfort, along with unprecedented 360° views from their top floor bar.

Before launching in The Mother City, a 452-room hotel will first open in Sandton, Johannesburg in November 2020. Both hotels are already accepting bookings.

Hotel Sky is focused on using cutting-edge technology to streamline the guest experience, from remote digital bookings and check-in, to app-based door keys and room service. They even have a digital grand piano that plays on request.

The major drawcard for the hotel are their electronic employees, named Micah, Lexi and Ariel. The three AI-powered robots are trained to assist guests in various ways, from luggage portage and room service deliveries, to answering questions about the hotel and surrounding areas.

The robots are run through an app system, and allow guests to avoid human contact, especially important amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Whether you’re dining in one of our decadent restaurants, enjoying a sundowner in one of our cocktail bars, chatting to one of our AI enabled robots, or listening to our automated Grand Piano play a song, Hotel Sky promises an experience like no other.”
