SpringBots are taking the world by storm, and if you found their team name to be intriguing, then you’ll be further invested in what they do. This dynamic robotics team uses STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to build robots and compete in international robotics competitions.
The SpringBots have created a platform for the youth to safely and creatively express themselves through the building of robots. They have also bagged many international awards for STEM achievements, flying the South African flag high indeed.
The team was founded and mentored by Top 100 Young Mandela finalist, Mikhaeel Reddy in 2018, and each year, high school students between the ages of 14 to 18 are selected to be a part of this incredible squad. The goal is to inspire young minds and improve communities and the world at large.
Each year, the team participates in international robotics competitions, like the FIRST Global Challenge, learning new things about STEM and robotics.
FIRST Robotics World Championships is an annual robotics event that attracts over 70 000 participants and fans from around the world, including interesting robots, who come together to celebrate some of the world’s most inspiring young innovators and changemakers, and to marvel at their unique robotic creations.
