1. Go stand-up paddle boarding (SUP)
Stand-up paddle boarding is a great way to have a fresh adventure while taking in views of the city. Offering you a different perspective, SUP Cape Town gives you the chance to paddle with gorgeous views of the Waterfront in sight.

2. Go Sky-Hi
The Sky-Hi Ride is a 35-metre ride that gives you a huge adrenaline rush while experiencing some of the best views of the city.
The ride is part of Hotel Sky, and it takes you up in a chair lift from the 28th floor before dropping you down.

3. Visit the District Six Museum
The District Six Museum was established in 1994, an important political year in South Africa, and focuses on memories, stories and experiences to detail the community’s painful history of forced removals under apartheid.
Walking through the museum, you will learn about the area’s history and the personal histories of its people.
The work the museum has done assists in conversations around land restoration and healing, and has been so powerful that it was declared a National Heritage Site in 2006.

4. Visit Kalk Bay by train
Visiting Kalk Bay is a lovely way to spend a day, but doing it by train makes the trip even more fun!
The journey takes just over an hour, and you can tuck into Kalky’s iconic vis and tjips upon arrival.

5. Abseil
Abseil Africa assists adventurers who are keen to try something new and daring. This is an activity that requires high energy and commitment.

6. Snorkel with seals
Snorkelling is the perfect way to be active in the ocean while being close enough to the surface to back out if needed. And, add the ocean’s puppies to the mix!

7. Ride on the Franschhoek Wine Tram
The Franschhoek Wine Tram is the ultimate way to explore the stunning wineland (which is a must-do!) while also doing some taste-testing.

8. Try cold water immersion

9. Watch a movie under the stars
The Galileo Open Air Cinema is a great way to spend a summer evening. Screenings of movies – both old and new – at magnificent Cape Town locations with your friends or family by your side.
The stunning venues can be found in Newlands, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Century City, Paarl and Somerset West, with ticket prices starting at R129 per person.

10. Kayak with dolphins
Explore Cape Town from a different vantage point by kayaking along the Table Bay coastline in the cool Atlantic waters. The refreshing sea breeze also beats the Cape Town heat.
The trip starts from Three Anchor Bay and journeys towards Granger Bay or Bantry Bay, with spectacular views of the Mother City.
The trip to Granger Bay goes past the Green Point Lighthouse and the wrecks of the Seafarer and RMS Athens, while the Bantry Bay route offers uninterrupted views of Signal Hill, Lion’s Head, Table Mountain and the 12 Apostles.
