It’s Black Friday this week. Retailers nation-wide are launching the best deals to help us buy smartly, with the big sale day happening this Friday, 25 November.
Many retailers have run month-long Black Friday specials, or have week-long deals starting now. There are both online and in-store sales with various established brands.
Some of our country’s biggest retailers are making sure we get the best deals on the products we want to buy, and have extended the deals to last longer than just one day.
Here are a few deals you can look out for:
Checkers
Checkers has been running Black Friday specials since 2014, and offers up to 50% off during their sales.
The brand has a well-run digital site as well as an app, with deals involving groceries, toys, appliances, tech, and liquor.

Woolworths
Woolworths has already begun their Black Friday deals, and has been running initiatives in the past weeks as the actual day approaches.
There are specials in both the clothing and food sections of Woolworths, with WRewards customers getting the best sales.

Pick n Pay
Pick n Pay also has special sales, incorporating their Smart Shopper rewards programme into the deals on the day.
The specials will include huge deals on groceries, liquor and household cleaning, focused especially on the newly-launched PnP Home, which aims to meet all customers’ home needs.

Clicks
Clicks is getting ready to put the best deals out there for customers, including tech, fragrances, skincare, baby products, makeup and kitchen appliances.
ClubCard members will benefit even more, earning cashback on their Black Friday shopping and getting access to exclusive rewards.

Game
Game is prepping for a one day only, big sale. The online sale and selected stores open at midnight on 25 November, with limited deals.
Customers will see low prices on home appliances, electronics, gaming and liquor.

Makro
Makro has been running its “Flaming Hot Deals” this month as they prep for the main sale on Friday this week.
They will have a variety of products on sale on Black Friday, including appliances, liquor, electronics, cellular and gaming products.

Dis-Chem
Dis-Chem runs the Black Friday specials for the whole week, which includes deals on their makeup, beauty, fragrance and baby products.

Shoprite
Shoprite has assured customers that they have sufficiently prepared for the big retail event on Friday, and aim to improve the customer experience for a more personalised and smooth shopping experience.
They have ensured that all stores are fully operative during loadshedding, and that customers can expect up to 50% discounts on Black Friday.

Takealot
Takealot’s Black Friday deals kick off on midnight of the big day, and has the great advantage for shoppers of being an online platform.
The Takealot Blue Dot Sale, the Black Friday deals initiative, continues into the weekend and all the way to Tuesday next week.
Customers can expect deals on tech and appliances, home and garden, fragrances and toys.
