Cape Town City Ballet is embracing the festive season and putting on the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol at the Artscape.
Well-known South African choreographer Veronica Paeper is heading up the production, which is set to be spectacular and accurate to the 19th-century novel.

A Christmas Carol follows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a grumpy old man who, on Christmas Eve, is taken on a journey through time, visiting the past, the present and the future.
This timeless story explores kindness versus greed and celebrates the magic of the festive season.

In Cape Town City Ballet’s version, Marcel Meyer will be playing Scrooge, accompanied by a cast of 60 talented children who help set the scene and dazzle the stage.

On 23 December, there will be a once-off children’s stage parade where children in the audience will be called onstage and will receive goodie bags.
On 29 December, there will also be a special year-end festive performance that includes a twenty-minute ‘Celebratory Encore’ with choreography by Sean Bovim after the performance.
