The HSBC Cape Town Sevens, the most festive and must-see summer event in Cape Town, is back on the schedule after being shut down for two years because of COVID-19.
The biggest FOMO-inducing party (sorry, we meant tournament) is an event not to be missed. 16 men’s and 12 women’s teams will battle it out at the DHL Stadium. The festivities kick off at 12pm on Friday, 9 December and continue through the weekend, culminating with Sunday Funday on 11 December, which starts at 8am.

R150 gets you the cheapest tickets up for grabs through Ticketmaster, while prices go up to R225 depending on where you book your seat.
Book the Family Stand on the north side of the stadium to experience the fun with the whole family. This year, alcohol will be allowed. A Kiddies Village will be available for kids aged between three and ten years of age. Don’t forget your cameras on Saturday and Sunday as Springbok mascot, Bokkie, will be making an appearance too.
The true rugby enthusiast will find the best seats in the Action Stand on the east side of the stadium. Here, you’ll be treated to a wide-angle view of all the action from the sidelines.
For rugby connoisseurs preferring fancier treatment, the west side of the stadium, is where you need to be. A unique in-stadium experience and an unrivalled viewing of the action are what you can expect at the Grand Stand.

As usual, the south side is where it’s at if you’re keen for absolute mayhem and manic celebrations. The Party Stand will have its own stage, which ensures revellers have a front-row seat to some of SA’s top acts. Bring out the costumes, bring out the drinks, and have a damn good time while supporting our guys and girls in green.
But that’s not all, folks. Besides an action-packed rugby tournament, there’s a whole lot more to look forward to. Food trucks, live music performances, dancers, costume parties, fan cams, Drone Ball, DJ battles, two Megatron screens and swimming pools are all in the mix.
The stopover in Cape Town will be the third leg of the series. The 2023 season began in Hong Kong in early November with a stop in Dubai before descending to Cape Town once more.
