The Stellenbosch wine region further establishes itself within the international arena , recently becoming the object of interest to investors hailing from France, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The affluent investors have acquired around 15 estates within the region.
The Stellenbosch region became of interest to the investors as they sought to introduce the addition of ‘new-world’ wines to their well-curated portfolio.
Argentina and New Zealand were also considered for the new ventures but ultimately came second to South Africa, reports Wine.co.za.

The investors, the Oddo family, own wine estates in Sicily and France, most notably, ‘Vallon des Glauges.’ The family has now purchased three estates in the region, Taaibosch being the most renowned.
Patriarch Pascal Oddo as well as his daughter Lorraine, reportedly fell in love with South Africa and Stellenbosch was highlighted as ‘a very fine appellation.’
Lorraine, daughter of Pascal Oddo, described the purchased estate as ‘absolutely stunning’ as it featured a view of the ocean which incorporates a freshness to the wines and safe-guards the vineyard against heavy rainfall.
