Written by Daniel Anderson, the show Beat It – The Incredible Story of Michael Jackson will be taking the spotlight at the Homecoming Centre stage in District Six from 12 to 15 July, bringing the story of the King of Pop to life with the help of the Jo Jackson Dance Co and Daphne Jubber Studio of Dance.
Audience members can expect to be taken on a journey beyond the Super Trouper lights and flashy performances. The show tells the story of Michael Jackson underneath the iconic gloves, the fedora and the lavish costumes through the expressive medium of his classic pop hits and ground-breaking dance moves.
Joining Amyoli Mnqojana and Kirt Ruiters in the leading role of Michael Jackson is international impersonator and entertainment extraordinaire, Dantanio Goodman.
According to Goodman, he felt an affinity with the King of Pop from a very early age and his appreciation of Michael Jackson’s dancing evolved into obsessive practice as he taught himself to emulate every detail of the legendary pop star’s trademark dance style.
Having gained popularity when working with Showtime Australia on The Michael History Show, Goodman has travelled the world, performing everywhere from London and the USA to Bahrain and Kenya, proving himself as one of the best MJ tribute acts.
His talents also earned him the honour of meeting and performing for Michael Jackson’s older brother, Jermaine Jackson, in Berlin in August 2018.

‘They always make you feel welcome and know how to have a good time. The energy with Cape Town audiences is very lively. I’m excited to be entertaining them again.’
Beat It is directed by Jo Jackson and Daniel Anderson with narration by Hannah Moerdyk, Kay Mosiane and Daniel Anderson.
The music is brought to life by an all-star live brand under the musical direction of Jacques Du Plessis.
