Looking for an adventure, an escape or just a chance to reconnect with nature?
Kudu Kloof is an off-grid, secluded mountain lodge nestled in the heart of the Karoo. Just under a two-hour drive from Cape Town, this off-grid retreat is perfect for family and friends to slow down and reconnect. This is an ideal destination for group bookings, as you’ll have exclusive use of the property.

This homestead is perched on top of a mountain, offering incredible views of the surrounding farmland and valley. To discover this hidden gem, get ready for a 4×4 adventure. The road to reach Kudu Kloof is rugged, but the journey is part of the fun!
Once you’re at the top, you’ll be captivated by the stunning Karoo mountain views and remote starry skies at night. Kudu Kloof is a place for taking a deep breath in and letting out a long, slow exhale in your busy life.

Operating entirely off-grid, Kudu Kloof runs on solar power and gas for heating and cooking. But here’s the twist – no television here. So bring along your favourite board games and get ready for some friendly (and maybe a bit competitive) fun.
And, while there’s no signal to distract you, fear not; Kudu Kloof offers complimentary WiFi if you feel like reconnecting with the world. But honestly, we think you’ll be too busy disconnecting from the busyness of everyday life and embracing wide-open spaces and fresh air to even miss it.
When it comes to spaces to relax and entertain, you’ll be spoilt for choice. With seven ensuite bedrooms and space for 16 guests (12 adults and four kids). The front verandah offers stunning views of the valley through large glass windows, while our outdoor amenities include a splash pool, wood-fired jacuzzi, fire pit and braai area.

Inside, the homestead offers a peaceful, home away from home feel, with open-plan living spaces, fireplaces and a bar area. Kudu Kloof’s fully equipped kitchen is ready for you to cook up a feast, complete with a large dining table perfect for gathering together over delicious meals.
Kids are welcome, with plenty of open space for them to play and discover nature. They’ve got toys to keep them entertained, and trying out the flower press is highly recommended. Not only is it a fun way to create beautiful artwork, but it also offers an educational opportunity to learn about the different Karoo flora and fauna.
You might even see zebras and bucks grazing in the veld on the edge of the property, which will keep the kids talking long after you return home.
Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure, Kudu Kloof has something for everyone.
Settle down in the wood-fired jacuzzi with your favourite drink and enjoy gorgeous homestead views or keep cosy in front of the fireplace with a book. At the end of the day, sit back and take in the scenery under the stars, roast marshmallows at the firepit and embrace the laid-back spirit of the Karoo.

If you’re after adventure, hiking or mountain biking to the top of the highest peak and taking in the valley views is truly an experience you will never forget.
Around the corner is the renowned Aquila Private Game Reserve, where day visitors can enjoy a guided afternoon or sunset Big Five safari. You’re also invited to explore other experiences, such as luxury spa treatments, quadbike or horseback safaris and signing your kids up for the Junior Ranger Programme.
Kudu Kloof is the perfect spot to bring your tribe, unwind and play. Now fire up the group chat, break out the diary and start planning a date!
