In March 2024, Belmond and Galleria Continua will host the third edition of ‘MITICO’, a series celebrating art, architecture and nature.
For the first time, ‘MITICO’ focuses solely on the internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Daniel Buren, renowned for his iconic use of stripes and geometric patterns.

Titled ‘Haltes Colorées,’ or ‘Colourful Halt,’ this year’s series includes six site-specific installations across Belmond properties worldwide.
From Cape Town to Mallorca, each location serves as a canvas for Buren’s vision, enriching the heritage of both past and future.

In the Mother City, Buren’s ‘Colourful Halt for Mount Nelson’ transforms the hotel’s historical garden fountain. Mirrors and stripes encircle the fountain, creating an interplay of light and nature against the backdrop of Table Mountain.
Other locations include Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, the Fiesole Hills overlooking Florence in Tuscany, Hotel Cipriani in Venice and La Residencia in Mallorca.
Through ‘Haltes Colorées,’ Daniel Buren invites viewers to rediscover the beauty of both architecture and natural surroundings.
