As Jazzart wraps up its remarkable 50th-anniversary celebration, it invites Cape Town audiences to experience the grand finale: ENCORE.
This mesmerising dance production, taking place at the Artscape Theatre, promises to be an unforgettable tribute to local dance legends who have shaped the company’s legacy.
ENCORE is a curated celebration of the extraordinary talent that has graced Jazzart’s stage over the past five decades. From visionary directors and choreographers to gifted performers and teachers, this production honours their contributions to the world of dance.

Expect a diverse line-up of performances, featuring top choreographers – past and present – and a display of dance styles adorned with stunning costumes.
Among the highlights of ENCORE is a special headline appearance by Alfred Hinkel and John Linden’s Garage Dance Ensemble, choreographed by Byron Klassen and Marlin Zoutman.
The show also features acclaimed alumni from the 90s, including Gregg Adams, Sbonakaliso Ndaba, Lewellyn Afrika, Yaseen Manuel and Keenun Wales.

ENCORE pays tribute to iconic figures in Jazzart’s history, including former artistic directors Sifiso Kweyama and Jackie Manyaapelo.
Spectacular alumni artists such as Sbonakaliso Ndaba, Marlin Zoutman, Celeste Botha, Grant van Ster, Shaun Oelf and Tanzley Jooste will also showcase their talents.
Since its establishment in 1973, Jazzart has been at the forefront of contemporary dance in South Africa. The company not only showcases skill and creativity but also serves as a nurturing ground for emerging artists, many of whom have become influential figures in the global dance community.
