Tourism Month in the Western Cape kicked off with a bang as the City of Cape Town launched one of Africa’s longest ziplines in Hout Bay.
The exhilarating zipline route is around 2.3km long with a single cable that stretches up to 500m in length and soars 155m above the ground at its highest point.
The latest addition has been a great way to kick off the month of September and the City’s tourism drive which is titled: “Rethinking Tourism,” as per IOL.
Following a tough two years for the tourism industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s vital that we learn to redo tourism, says Economic Growth Mayco member James Vos.
Making sure that tourism is accessible for everybody, including locals, has been placed at the top of the agenda.
“We are inviting everyone who lives in Cape Town to nominate themselves or a loved one to tell us the one thing you would love to experience in this city. Whether it’s a stay at a 5-star hotel, a cooking class or paragliding over the mountains; we want to help make as many wishes as possible come true,” Vos continued.
