Silo Concerts have returned this month, offering free live performances for the public. In partnership with Hendricks Gin, the concerts are held at the Silo District of the Waterfront.
The concerts, which were established in 2018, are back this year after a break during the pandemic, when public events were put on hold.
This Friday, 2 December, Mandisi Dyantyis will be the talented musician taking the stage at the concert. Dyantyis is a South African trumpeter and vocalist.
In 2019, his debut album, “Somandla”, was released, and in the same year, he was nominated for the SAMA Award for Best Jazz Album as well as for the Mzantsi Jazz Awards.
His second album, “Cwaka”, was released this year and has been streamed over two million times in the nine months since its release.
“Cwaka” recently won the SAMA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album of 2022.
Dyantyis will be playing some older compositions on Friday, content from “Cwaka” as well as brand-new material for the first time.
Come to the Silo District this Friday for a free night of music and talent.
