Cape Town, are you ready for arguably the biggest electronic music festival of the year? After three years of waiting (thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic), Capetonian Ultranauts will be over the moon to know that ULTRA is finally set to return to South Africa in March 2023, as announced on Wednesday.
And for those of us who are going, a jam of epic proportions lies in store. Rumour has it there’ll be bigger artists, louder music, over-the-top fireworks and a whole lot more.

The festival will take place in Cape Town on Friday, 10 March at the Kenilworth Racecourse before heading off to the Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg the next day.
Tickets for the event will go on sale on Friday, 23 September and can be purchased on ULTRA‘s website.
- General admission tickets: R650 to R950
- VIP tickets: R1000 to R2000
Since the first edition in 2014, ULTRA South Africa has consistently boasted the world’s most talented DJs, unparalleled stage designs, and top tier production, and the 2022 festivals will be no exception.
According to IOL, Ultra SA 2020 raked in a whopping 50 000 screaming fans together where some of the biggest music names – including Dash Berlin, DJ Snake, Afrojack and Steve Aoki – were brought to South Africa for the one-day extravaganza.
