The City of Cape Town’s My Clean Green Home exhibit in Green Point Park is set to reopen again to visitors on certain days over the next few months.
As part of the City’s climate change response and resilience campaign, My Clean Green Home is a life-sized, net-zero carbon dwelling powered by solar PV that serves as an open invitation for Cape Town residents to fully immerse themselves in the future of sustainable living.

‘The exhibit home gives visitors a chance to walk through and experience for themselves this sustainable way of living. The home shows that small actions can make the world of difference and offers inspiration to all,’ said City’s MMC for Energy Councillor Beverley van Reenen.
‘With no- and low- investment, all residents can act to make even small changes within their homes to increase their energy, water and waste efficiency.’
My Clean Green Home is a practical showcase, located at the South Gate of Green Point Urban Park, of how residents can implement small but significant modifications in their homes to contribute towards a greener, cleaner tomorrow.

Residents can visit My Clean Green Home from 11am to 3pm on these dates:
- 10, 24 February
- 2, 16, 29, 30, 31 March
- 1, 13, 27 April
- 25 May
- 8 June
Those interested in learning about energy, water and waste, as well as sustainable usage of natural resources and environmental awareness, can enjoy the City’s special activations, which will take place on 29, 30, 31 March and 1 April 2024.
‘As part of the City’s climate action, we are aiming to be carbon neutral by 2050 and the City has committed that all new buildings in Cape Town will be net zero carbon by 2030,’ said van Reenen.
‘While net zero carbon homes seem as if they would be difficult to create, this exhibit home shows that the building techniques and technologies already exist and are increasingly within reach of the average household. We encourage all Capetonians to visit the home and see just what they can do in their own homes,’ she added.
