Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to lace up their hiking boots for a scenic guided hike hosted by the Cape Point Volunteers on Sunday, 12 April 2026, in the breathtaking Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park.
The five-hour hike, running from 8am to 1pm, promises a rewarding journey through one of Cape Town’s most picturesque natural landscapes. Participants will meet at the Cape Point pay gate before heading out on a 10.3 km route that begins at Olifantsbos car park, passes through Sirkelsvlei, and returns via the historic shipwreck trail.
With an elevation gain of 138 metres, the hike is rated moderate to challenging, making it suitable for those with a reasonable level of fitness. The route includes a mix of rocky and sandy terrain, offering both a physical challenge and stunning coastal views along the way.
Organisers encourage hikers to come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear, sun protection, enough water, and snacks for rest stops. While the hike itself is free, normal park entry fees apply unless visitors have a valid Wild Card.
