Bouchon

Located in the heart of the city, Bouchon is a moody bistro that’s famous for its hearty and delicious tapas that will take you straight to foodie heaven. Heading out of Cape Town and towards the Western Cape’s favourite whale-watching spots, you’ll find a scrumptious hidden restaurant that’s a must-visit when heading to Hermanus. Lizette’s Kitchen is a favourite amongst locals and visitors, serving up a mix of culinary influences from around the world, including Asian, South African, and Moroccan cuisine. “Come for the food and stay for the atmosphere” should be the motto when talking about Lizette’s, as the restaurant is a spacious farmhouse that’s filled with authentic country-style hospitality and ambience.

Choose between their “easy dining selection”, grabbing a butter chicken and prawn or try something a little fancier with their Duo of Guinea Fowl filled with ricotta mousse wrapped in parma ham. Jewells 

Enjoy a lazy weekend at Jewells, the perfect spot for those looking to explore the bustling Spice Route and revel in delicious food and stunning views. Grab your fur-baby and head to this little gem as you sip on a selection of red and white wines paired with a few of their signature dishes, including airview red Angus sirloin, fondant potato, oxtail jus – yum!

The Table at De Meye

No culinary list is complete with a Stellenbosch mention. The Table at De Meye is a beautiful blend of good food, fresh produce, incredible views and exquisite company. They offer a weekly set menu that starts at R425 per person – a steal for the sublime food that’s placed in front of you. Think: slow-cooked free-range Karoo lamb shoulder and meringue, whipped cream and spring berries for dessert; what more could you ask for?
