We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: We are spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do in the Mother City.
There’s a new adventure lurking around every corner in Cape Town, and this one includes shipwrecks and a braai! If you consider yourself an explorer like Christopher Columbus, and are itching to sink your teeth into a slice of history, TrailFit SA has got you covered.

Along the glistening coast in the Cape Point Nature Reserve lies a wealth of historical treasures in the form of shipwrecks, waiting to be explored.
One of TrailFit SA’s many tours offers adventurers the opportunity to marry their love of the outdoors with a hands-on history lesson.
Embark on a seven-kilometre stroll along the beach with a qualified and experienced guide, stopping along the way to explore the multiple shipwrecks left behind by a world lost in time (but certainly not forgotten).
Unleash your inner explorer with these incredible car deals, all priced under 100K. Find car listings here.
Seven kilometres may sound daunting for some, but don’t become despondent because there’s no elevation and there’ll be many pauses to explore and catch your breath if needed, making it a fitness- and family-friendly adventure for everyone to enjoy.
In true expedition-style, in addition to an array of shipwrecks, it’s highly likely that you’ll encounter some (not so much weird, but definitely wonderful) creatures too, like baboons, ostriches and some buck.
After working up an appetite, the next stop is Buffels Bay, about a ten-minute drive within the reserve. Here you can bask in the fresh ocean breeze, take a dip at the beautiful secluded beach or tidal pool, and dig into a delicious South African-style braai platter (halaal) for lunch.
The braai platter includes portions of steak, sausage, salad, garlic roll and cool drinks, and will be prepared upon arrival at Buffels Bay.
