We’re flying high and it’s all thanks to the news that the 28th edition of the Cape Town International Kite Festival will be taking place pretty soon.
The month of October is not only the perfect time to shake off the winter chills with warmer weather, but it’s an incredible opportunity to raise awareness for mental health with World Mental Health Day taking place on 10 October.
With the festival promising to be “an uplifting mix of magical and carefree fun,” it’s no surprise that this year’s festival theme is #FlyYourDreams with a special aim to inspire people to live their dreams.
The event is set to take place on 9 October with proceeds going directly to Cape Mental Health. You can also support this incredible initiative by wearing green on the day when attending this exciting pop-up event while getting your toes dirty on the white-sandy shores of Melkbosstrand Beach.
The skies are the limit for you and the uniquely decorated kites as the event aims to encourage individuals from all walks of life to enjoy some fresh air and “come and fly your dreams.”
There’s a special event for the kiddies to participate in called EDUKITE competition (a kite-decorating and kite-making competition).
Activities, interviews and an online store are just a few of the exciting things you’ll have the chance to get up to.
Miss it? Not a chance, here are the details:
