Ndlovu Youth choir in concert
Ndlovu Youth Choir, one of South Africa’s most successful choral ensembles, will be gracing the stage with an enchanting and uplifting musical experience, scheduled for a limited run of six performances.
In what promises to be a captivating performance, Ndlovu Youth Choir in Concert will feature an array of the choir’s most beloved hits. Audiences can look forward to renditions of classics like ‘Africa,’ ‘Easy On Me,’ ‘Shape of You,’ ‘Higher Love,’ ‘Man in the Mirror’ and ‘We Will Rise.’
Their repertoire also includes renditions of Miriam Makeba’s ‘Mbube’ and ‘Special Star’ by South Africa’s beloved band Mango Groove. They will also perform original compositions such as ‘Grateful’ and ‘Celebrate’ from their third studio album, titled ‘Grateful’.

Twins of Comedy
A belly-laughing evening awaits at the Artscape where ukulele-playing Phil de Lange and Lunga ‘The Energiser Funny’ Tshuka take to the stage for their highly-anticipated birthday special.
Phil has been gracing both the South African comedy scene and international audiences with his unique blend of tongue-in-cheek humour and ukulele skills since 2013, with his talent garnering him the prestigious South African Savanna Comics’ Choice Award in the Next Level category.
Triple-threat Lunga is not only an all-round entertainer but also a physical comedian and humanitarian with a solidified status within the comedy community. Besides captivating audiences with humorous heartwarming stories and advocating for mental health awareness, he has also served as a mentor for Lag My Kla at the Suidoosterfees.
Aptly named Twins of Comedy, the show promises to leave audience members in stitches as the award-winning comedic duo showcase their quick wit, impeccable timing and infectious energy.

La Traviata
Indulge in a stirring spectacle of passion, tragedy and melody as Cape Town Opera and Opera UCT present Verdi’s timeless masterpiece, La Traviata.
Audience members can expect to witness the merging of storytelling magic and some of South Africa’s best vocal talent as they follow the ill-fated love story of Violetta, a glamorous courtesan and Alfredo, the young man who adores her, navigating a society where love battles moral judgement and social constraint.
Uniting Cape Town Opera House Soloists and Young Artists with the rising talent of Opera UCT, the production will feature two dynamic casts accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

Placido Domingo’s Operalia
Each year, Placido Domingo’s Operalia – the world’s foremost opera competition – is hosted in a different city. This year, Cape Town joins the world’s cultural capitals such as London, Paris, Madrid, Hamburg, Tokyo and Milan as a host city to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
With Rolex as the presenting sponsor and the City of Cape Town and Southern Sun as the main local sponsors, the competition (hosted by the Cape Town Opera and Artscape) will field a successful 34 of 800 applicants, all vying for the prestigious titles and cash prizes of more than R4 million.
The competition was founded in 1993 and has helped establish the careers of many singers, like Yende, Sekgapane and Metropolitan Opera star Sonya Yoncheva.
