A brightly lit South African flag is being projected on the DHL Stadium tonight – ‘for extra gees’ as Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis, who took to social media to share the stunning view, said.
The six-metre by six-metre flag stands at eight metres high and is being projected near the stadium’s main entrance facing Signal Hill.
According to the City of Cape Town, the flag is both a gesture of support for our mighty back-to-back Rugby World Cup Champions, the Springboks, as well as a signal to say that it’s ‘all systems go’ for the DHL Stadium and the City ahead of the monumental test match.
‘Cape Town is a city united in pride and excitement as we prepare to host our world champion Bokke for this historic clash against our greatest rivals,’ says the City.
The flag will be visible until midnight tonight, and will be up again after the game on Saturday from 7pm until midnight – so be sure to get your snaps in before then!
